World Day for Prevention, Healing & Justice
Every year, the world comes together on World Day for Prevention, Healing & Justice to raise awareness and take action against childhood sexual violence. This day is a call to end the horrors that many children face in silence, empowering individuals, communities, and governments to come together to protect, heal, and seek justice for survivors.
Prevention is at the heart of this movement. By educating communities, providing resources, and raising awareness about the signs of abuse, we can work together to prevent childhood sexual violence before it happens. This involves creating safe spaces for children, educating caregivers, and dismantling societal structures that enable abuse to persist.
Healing is just as important as prevention. Survivors of childhood sexual violence need compassion, support, and access to resources that can help them rebuild their lives. Through counseling, medical care, and social support, we can guide survivors toward a path of healing, resilience, and recovery.
Justice is essential for ensuring accountability and empowering survivors. It’s vital that laws protect children, that perpetrators are held responsible, and that survivors receive the legal support they need to seek justice. This includes advocacy for stronger child protection laws, supporting survivors through legal processes, and amplifying their voices.
On this important day, we acknowledge the strength of survivors and renew our commitment to creating a world where no child experiences sexual violence. Together, we can ensure a safer, more just future for children everywhere.
