Empowering Youth With
Knowledge and Resources
Replacing misinformation with accurate SRHR education and tangible health resources so no young person is left vulnerable in Mpigi District.
Health is the Foundation of Everything
Young people in Mpigi District face serious vulnerabilities — HIV, teenage pregnancy, and period poverty — often fueled by misinformation and a lack of resources. Our Adolescent Health program steps in where the system has failed.
A girl that misses school every month because she has no sanitary pads will eventually fall too far behind and stop attending entirely. We refuse to let that happen. Through education, resources, and community partnerships, we keep young people healthy, informed, and in school.

The Reusable Pad Initiative
Our locally-made reusable sanitary pads are sewn by our Vocation Training tailoring graduates, creating a powerful internal cycle of impact. Each pad lasts 12–18 months, reducing waste and ongoing cost. Girls receive pads, training on use, and hygiene education — keeping them in school every single day of the month.
Fund More Pads"Before I received the pads through KAKAF, I missed 3–4 days of school every month. My grades were falling. Now I never miss a day. I even explained to my younger sister how to use hers. This program changed my school life completely."— Grace A., S3 Student, Mpigi District 2024
Why This Work Cannot Wait
Period poverty affects 1 in 10 girls in sub-Saharan Africa, causing them to miss up to 20% of the school year. Combined with a lack of SRHR education, this creates a cycle of vulnerability that leads to early pregnancy, school dropout, and limited life opportunities.
KAKAF breaks this cycle with direct, dignified, and lasting solutions. Our approach doesn't just treat the symptoms — it removes the root causes of adolescent vulnerability one girl at a time.
